    If you accidentally add too much salt when cooking…

    If you accidentally add too much salt when cooking, don’t rush to add water. Add this to the pot to help the dish lose its saltiness and still have a full flavor.

    When you accidentally add too much salt to your food, follow these steps to help balance the taste and reduce the saltiness. Usually, when you accidentally add too much salt, housewives will immediately add more water to reduce the saltiness of the dish. However, there are many other ways to fix this problem. To reduce the salty taste of dishes, you can try other methods below.

    Use vinegar or fresh lemon juice

    You only need to use a small amount of rice vinegar or fresh lemon juice to neutralize the salty taste of dishes. Note, this method should not be applied to dishes with ingredients made from milk because under the influence of acid in vinegar/lemon, the milk will precipitate and the dish will change its texture and lose its delicious taste

    Use egg whites

    For soups and stews, you can use chicken egg whites or duck eggs to neutralize the salty taste. Crack the egg into a bowl, separate the egg white (leave it whole, do not beat it) and pour it directly into the pot. Let the water boil for about 5 minutes, then scoop out the egg white. The egg will absorb the saltiness of the dish. Depending on the amount of food, you can adjust the amount of egg white accordingly.

    Honey

    Honey will help reduce the saltiness of the dish and increase the rich flavor. You can use this spice for soups, ⱪcoughs, and stews. Just add a few spoons of honey to the pot and season to taste. Honey has a sweet taste that will soften the salty taste and increase the deliciousness of the dish.     Use tomatoes

    If you don’t have lemon or potatoes, you can also use tomatoes instead. Cut the tomatoes into thick slices and put them in the food. Soak them in there for 15-20 minutes. Tomatoes will help reduce the saltiness of the dish. However, tomatoes have a very mild sour taste, so they will be effective in the above methods.
